Contents of the Demo

The Playground Demo covers pretty much everything that the SLP has to offer, while also showing the Performance of it.

The Forward Shading Renderer will not support the first Area of the Demo Build, this is a technical Limation! Please see the Limitations Page for more Information.

Global Illumination

Multiple GI enabled Light Painters are included in the Demo, actively capturing Emissive Materials from the Environment.

Flashlight

(Deferred Renderer Only)
A Flashlight with a default UE4 Spot Light and a GI enabled Light Painter is included, which can simulate Light Bounces from the Objects that are being lit up by the Spot Light. Lighten up an Orange Surface for example and the whole Area becomes Orange.

Performance Tests

The whole demo build is a performance test, but in addition there are 3 Areas being loaded in with Level Streaming to compare and show the Performance impact of the SLP. Included are:

  • A scene with 1000 Point Light Painters
  • A scene with 1000 unshadowed default UE4 Point Lights (for comparison)
  • A scene with 1000 GI enabled Point Light Painters that are capturing Emissive Objects around them
